Audubon Zoo, located in historic Uptown New Orleans, offers an exotic mix of animals from around the globe, engaging educational programs, hands-on animal encounters and lush gardens. Unique natural habitat exhibits such as the award-winning Louisiana Swamp and Jaguar Jungle showcase the relationship between people and nature. Audubon Zoo is often ranked among the country’s best for innovation and entertainment value. Throughout the year, Audubon Zoo hosts some great family-friendly events like Boo at the Zoo too.
Don’t miss the sea lion and elephant presentations; highly endangered whooping cranes; Amur leopards and orangutans; white tigers Rex and Zulu; and our mysterious white alligators. If little ones get tuckered out jump on the Swamp Train for a guided tour through popular exhibits. A trip to the zoo isn't complete without a spin around the Gottesman Family Endangered Species Carousel. Don't forget to stop in the Audubon Marketplace gift shop on your way out for a souvenir to remember your fun day with the animals.
