From the people who usually bring us Greek Fest on Bayou St. John every Memorial Day comes Spring Greek Feast, a drive-thru event on March 20th where you can pick up pre-ordered Greek food at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Bayou St. John.
Slow-roasted lamb shank with lemon potatoes and Greek green beans; Moussaka with eggplant, potatoes, meat sauce and béchamel; Mediterranean pizza; Bakalava and so much more await. We get hungry just thinking about it.
But here’s the thing: You must place your order for the March 20 drive-thru event by March 7. Also mark your calendar for Greek Feast, a Tribute to Greek Fest, on May 29. Festival organizers say the May event will feature even more traditional dishes. Covid-19 rules willing, they’re hoping to be able to offer their traditional Greek Festival in November.
