You don’t have to wait for Mardi Gras to costume in New Orleans.

Nerd out at Big Easy Con, a three-day pop culture convention in one of the best cities in the world. This year, it takes place November 1-3 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

This is your chance to see stars from television and movies, the biggest names in the comic industry, cosplay superstars, unique exhibits and vendors, and family-friendly programming. Guests include “Weird Al” Yankovic, WWE® Superstars The New Day® Zachary Levi, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis and Kristin Bauer. Special guests are announced all the time so check their website regularly to see who else is coming.

On Saturday, there’s a Costume Contest on the Main Stage. Expect to see costumes spanning the worlds of comics, movies, television, anime, manga, musicals, books, and games are all eligible for entry. Your little ones can meet their favorite characters, participate in a Kids Costume Parade, enjoy the National Wildlife Federation Animal Show with Naturalist David Mizejewski, take a crash course on “How to Be Spidey” and enjoy Ghostbuster Training (learn how to make your own ectoplasm). Come take pics with superheroes, princesses and more!
