Cirque du Soleil wowed the crowds at Corteo, March 2-4, 2018, at the Smoothie King Center. Variety promised laughter, chills and all around amazement and they were right on all accounts.
Corteo, which means cortège or procession in Italian, is about a clown who watches his own funeral take place in a joyous, festive, carnival-like atmosphere, while being watched over by caring angels. According to a press release, by juxtaposing the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlighted the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us.
