My wife and I decided to see the acclaimed IMAX movie, “Hurricane on the Bayou” this weekend. On our way there we stopped in Canal Place to make our regular stop at Starbuck's Coffee, and do a little window shopping.
We were happy to see that Saks Fifth Avenue will soon be having their Grand Reopening Gala! It seems that, not only will we be welcoming the return of Saks to Canal Place, but the new store will be their “Flagship” store.
The Grand Reopening Gala will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 and will benefit The NOCCA Institute, The Contemporary Arts Center, The New Orleans Museum of Art, The Preservation Resource Center, and the Louisiana Cancer Research Center. (For more information call 504-522-7995)
We continued onto the IMAX and were touched by the beautiful and emotional scenes portrayed on the immense screen. “Hurricane on the Bayou” created a touching portrayal of the immense importance of being good stewards of our environment.
While there, we also made a trip to the Aquarium of the America's and decided to take advantage of their discount annual passes. All three places, Canal Place, the IMAX, and the Aquarium are great places to visit if your traveling to New Orleans from far away, or if your a local from around the corner!
