Dr. John and Bobby Rush fans have something to be excited about this week. The two local musicians have teamed up to write a new song titled “Another Murder in New Orleans,” which will be released at the Crimestoppers Patron Party Wednesday.
“Another Murder in New Orleans,” which also features local artist Blinddog Smokin’ and Shelea, is already up on the Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans website, and is available for download. All of the proceeds go to supporting Crimestoppers and preventing crime in the New Orleans area.
Dr. John and Bobby Rush aren’t the only musicians who will be performing at the concert. Attendees can also expect to see and hear from local artists Allen Toussaints, Deacon John Father and Sons of the New Millennium, Charmaine Neville, James Andrews, Rockin’ Dopsie, and Sunpie.
If you plan on coming, then come hungry. Over a dozen restaurants from around the New Orleans area will be there serving food, like Galatoire’s, Mothers and Creole Creamery.
And in the spirit of supporting Crimestoppers, there will also be a live auction for a three night stay at Sidney Torres, IV resort “The Cove” on the island of Eleuthera located in the Bahamas.
The event is being held at Generations Hall, begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. General admissions tickets (standing room only) are $50, or $75 on the day of the event. For $100, attendees can buy Patron Level tickets, which include a private level view, reserved seats, hosted bar, great food, and a chance to meet the performers.
