The Ultimate New Orleans Girlfriend Getaway
This June 22-24, women from all around the country will gather in New Orleans for FestiGals, a celebration of women and New Orleans. Girlfriend, this annual event celebrates, empowers and connects women – and it's just a whole lot of fun.
Created by women for women, FestiGals features a New Orleans Women’s Conference with inspirational seminars, fast-paced Festitalks™, a Culinary Demo Dinner at Sac-Au-Lait with Chef Samantha Carroll, and New Orleans-inspired social events. This year, the keynote will be delivered by Linda Alvarado, co-owner of the Colorado Rockies and president/CEO of Alvarado Construction. She'll be followed by 28 more amazing women speakers, including doctors, authors, entrepreneurs and even a burlesque performer.
Why burn your bra when you can bead it?
Much-anticipated events include The Bodacious Bras for a Cause Brunch and The Bodacious Bra Challenge, benefitting the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans and Breastoration, two local agencies that provide services and support to women during cancer treatment and recovery. The annual Stiletto Stroll Second Line Parade will give you a chance to be part of the New Orleans second-line parade tradition. Don your best boa, tiara and "glow" attire as well as comfy shoes (stillettos optional) and hit the streets with FestiGals 2017 Grand Diva Robin Barnes. A parade pre-party will be held at the Mardi Gras Museum of Costume & Culture, and the parade will end with an After-Glow party at Harrah’s Casino with entertainment by the Groovy 7. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Family Justice Center.
