Jammin' on Julia
This Saturday, April 2nd, the New Orleans Arts District Association will host the art benefit and block party on Julia Street. View art varying from cutting edge contemporary pieces to classic Louisiana art. While you're at it, check out the brass bands and plenty of local New Orleans restaurants. The block party will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Verdi's Il Trovatore
Also this weekend, the New Orleans Opera will perform Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Mahalia Jackson Theater on Friday, April 1st at 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 3rd at 2:30 p.m. Il Trovatore is one of the more popular opera pieces, with a plot full of lies and vengeance. Soprano Mary Elizabeth William and baritone Mark Rucker lead the cast.
